Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris allegedly chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, according to multiple US sources

Campaign officials have yet to comment, however, reports indicate that an official announcement is anticipated later on Tuesday.

Walz, a 60-year-old US Army National Guard veteran and former educator, has been recognized for his progressive policies and straightforward approach.

Walz, first elected to Congress in 2006 from a Republican-leaning district, served twelve years in the US House of Representatives before being elected governor of Minnesota in 2018.

During his tenure as governor, Walz initiated several progressive projects, including providing free school meals, setting ambitious climate change goals, offering tax relief to the middle class, and expanding paid leave for workers.
